Wintercamp Wengen, 29.2.2012

Today we went to Grindelwald to try the First ski area, where they have a snowpark and a pipe which all the snowboarders had been looking forward to and it didnt disappoint. The best and toughest group of people went sledging in First today on the longest sledging way in Europe. We had a 2hour walk up the mountain, but it felt like 10 hours. We had lunch with an amazing view at the top. Florian met his 2 cousins there that he hadn’t seen in two years, what are the odds of that? The sledging down was really fun, bumpy and fast, we also had some crashes, but no one got seriously hurt. The end of the sliding way was water sledging than snow sledging. We all got totally wet but continued sledging from Kleine Scheidegg to Wengen also, since we were the best group.

Wintercamp Wengen, 27.2.2012

Today we had the most amazing weather for ski and snowboard! Perfect T-shirt weather! We could see The Jungfrau from where we were skiing. Unfortunately in the excitement of the weather we managed to lose yet another person, perhaps tomorrow, third time lucky?! We are all are wonderfully sunburnt after today! In the afternoon we went on a guided tour in Wengen, bringing us to the cellar of cheese, we were given amazing raclette and also had the opportunity to make the most of the bakery of Wengen too! Tonight there is a dance workshop and we are all really looking forward to it  .

Today we stood up early to go to ski and snowboard! Everyone loves standing up early. The weather was snowy and foggy. In the beginning we could only see some meters in front of us. But later in the day we got some sun. Yey :D We managed only to lose one person, better than expected. No one broke a leg or arm today, also better than expected. After après ski we had a delicious dinner. Now we will take a shower and going out to the famous Tour de Wengen.

Arriving to Wengen…wooww what a scenery on the way to this charming small alpine village. Lakes, snow capped mountain peaks the odd animal far away… After changing trains in Interlaken Ost and Lauterbrunnen we made our final stretch and arrived at the Wengen train station 1.274 m above sealevel shortly before 5pm. Quick greeting followed by a 10 minute walk through the snowed streets to our destination…the Alpenblick House, which translates to View of the Alps House.
